A-bombed Tree

Camphor tree
(Shirakami Shrine)
  7-24 Nakamachi Naka-ku, Hiroshima (Shirakami Shrine)

  (2011.5.2)
  This tree lost the ground part by the atomic bomb, but sprouted again.
I do not know whether it is the effect of the radiation or the environmental effect,
but it is not growing very large by guessing from the age of the tree.

(2018.10.14)
I like camphor tree, but because I don't feel so attractive with this tree, I did not visit much.
However, I came to want to take a portrait of the A-bombed trees and decided to shoot again facing each other.

(2023.4.2)
Spring is the time when the leaves of the camphor tree are replaced, and red leaves are mixed.
The flowers are still beginning to open, but it is a beautiful time of fresh green.
Cherry blossoms were blooming beautifully in the precincts of the shrine.

(2024.5.19)
May is a beautiful time to see fresh greenery.

 <How to visit>

 With the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum on the back, go to the left on Peace Avenue. There is a shrine just to the left across a large intersection through which trams pass.

 There is another bombed tree nearby.
